These are apartments designed for people with psychiatric disorders who are able to live with partial autonomy. In these spaces, besides having a home, residents receive support from a designated care worker.
The service has been active since 2006, when we first experimented with autonomous living in protected environments. Since 2011, it has been known as “light residential care” in accordance with the regulations of the Lombardy Region and operates under a contract with ATS Bergamo.
The main goal remains the same: to help residents become more independent in daily life, self-care, work autonomy, financial management, and relationships with neighbors and the community.
Currently, there are a total of 35 accredited places, of which 20 are under contract with ATS Bergamo.

Our Integrated Home Care Programs are designed for individuals with psychiatric difficulties who has a basic level of autonomy. These people are referred to us by local mental health services.
Entry is possible through a referral from the Psycho-Social Center.
Each resident has their own fully furnished, independent apartment within a safe and supportive environment. Our dedicated staff is available for at least two hours daily, with 24/7 on-call support to ensure safety and assistance whenever needed.
Our team helps residents live as independently as possible. This includes support with daily tasks like grocery shopping, finding a job, engaging with the community, obtaining a driver’s license or a car, and managing finances - with help from a legal guardian if needed.
Whenever possible, once residents regain independence, we assist them in returning to their home community or, if they prefer, in finding housing in Val Serina or other welcoming places.
